Jaguar Land Rover has revealed the supercharged edition Land Rover Defender V8. The Defender range are long known for their off-road cruising comfort and heavy load towing capacity at a determined speed in the most challenging terrain. Earlier the V8-engined Defenders were specifically manufactured and marketed for countries with low cost fuel who were in demand of power driven vehicles. The distinct engineering features in the new 2020 version of Defender has seen growing interest across the globe. The Defender (90,110 and V8) variants are distinctly designed on aluminium unibody and firm suspension mechanism that reinforces it to deliver maximised driving practicality, flexibility and capability in the most uneven extremities.

The ex-showroom price range of Defender 90 and 110 variant in India - Rs 73.98-90.46 Lakh.
The Defender V8 global spec price stands at 98,505 pound i.e. around Rs 1.003 Cr.
Engine Specification
Currently the Indian variant of the Land Rover Defender is powered by 2.0L Ingenium Turbocarged I4 engine and the 3.0L mild hybrid diesel engine model of Defender 90 range will be sold later this year.
The Land Rover Defender V8 is embodied with 5.0-litre supercharged 'AJ' V8 engine has been designed exclusively for performance-focused models including the Range Rover Sport and Jaguar F-Type and presently produced by JLR –endows the 4x4 driving legend with 525hp and 625Nm torque, making it the most powerful Defender. As far as performance goes, the V8 Defender will hit 100kph from rest in just 5.2sec and top out at 240kph in short-wheelbase, three-door 90 variant.
Transmission
The V8 engine is mated with 8-speed ZF manual and automatic torque convertor gearbox which function smoothly in pair with the 2-speed transfer case.
Interior Features
The Interior tech features in the standard (90,110) model include 10.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with integrated navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto all standard. Six-speaker audio is included on entry-level cars and 10- or 14-speaker Meridian systems are included on higher trims. Lower-spec models utilize a 7.0-inch instrument cluster display and a 12.3-inch fully digital cluster is available in top variants.
The 2021 V8 global model is equipped with an improved touchscreen system, its programmed with latest Pivi Pro infotainment system, which integrates features such as over-the-air software updates and an improved navigation system. The system comes with a 10-inch screen as standard, but can be upgraded with an optional 11.4-inch unit.
As standard, the V8 model gets a leather and Dinamica suede interior with an Alcantara-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel. The car’s exposed beam is painted in satin black, also fitted is the distinguished V8-badged tread plates.
Exterior and Terrain features
The V8 chassis modifications embodies larger anti-roll bars that aid to reduce the body of the car leaning through corners, also a model-specific electronic differential at the rear in place to adjust power depending on the levels of grip as well to offer superior agility and driving appeal.
