Skoda To Launch Powerpacked Fourth Gen Hatchback Fabia By Late 2021

 



Skoda’s hatchback Fabia saw growing consumer interest after its first launch in 2008. Skoda was one those brands that offered premium and luxury features in the segment. However, by 2013 it faced strong competition from the top selling affordable models Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i20. Skoda now plans to relaunch its fourth-gen hatchback by late 2021 with contemporary modifications to suit the trending demands of the consumers. 

Expected Price

The expected price is Rs 11 Lakh in India.

Engine Specifications Revealed

The Skoda Fabia 2021 is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 108bhp of power and 175Nm of torque.

The performance driven version is expected to be powered by the 1.5-litre turbocharged engine producing 147bhp and 250Nm of torque. 

Transmission

The gear box options are likely to include a 6MT, 6-speed torque convertor and a 7-speed DSG (1.5L Turbo unit).

Features

The new Skoda Fabia is based on the Volkswagen Group’s Modular Transverse Toolkit MQB-A0 for the first time. This platform enhances the interior space and supports the use of drive assistance systems and connectivity features.

 The overall built looks identical to the third generation model. It comes with new LED headlamps combined LED daytime running lamps, defined and sharper looking tail-lights.

The new model has been resized to be slightly more spacious. It is likely to feature the signature Skoda butterfly grille. The rear windscreen appears steeply angled. The new Fabia is likely to feature sharper edges all around the body.

Skoda plans to make the spacious cabin as one of the selling point . The hatchback will come with multiple advanced features like the ones that Skoda has ingeniously embodied in the interiors of upcoming new VW Polo and the Skoda Kamiq mid-sized SUV.

Skoda plans to evolve the new Fabia with powerful and performance driven assembly.
