Royal Enfield 2021 Himalayan The Expedition Capable Motorcycle Launched

The Highly awaited expedition Royal Enfield motorcycle Himalayan 2021 has been launched.  The exclusively terrain capable motorbike has been awaited by the RE enthusiasts across the globe. The adventure friendly bike has been modified to be adventure friendly for the riders and offer improved handling comfort.

Price

The 2021 Royal Enfield Himalayan has been launched in India and prices for the Adventure bike start at ₹ 2.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The Pine green and Granite black colour options are priced at ₹ 2.08 lakh each (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Feature Updates

The motorcycle instrument  is now equipped with Tripper navigation pod which was first seen in RE Meteor 350. It is tuned to the Google Maps and offers turn-by-turn navigation data however, it does not display incoming calls/messages when connected to the Royal Enfield app.

The tank guards up front get a slight tweak in design. They are now smaller and forward set, based on customer feedback that the earlier unit made it cramped for taller riders. 

The rear luggage rack now gets a finished base plate, which makes it easier to mount luggage and panniers. The flyscreen atop the round headlight is new  and has a shorter and lean edge.

Engine Specification

The Himalayan continues to be powered by the BS6 compliant 411 cc long stroke engine which makes 24.3 bhp at 6,500 rpm and 32 Nm of peak torque between 4,000-4,500 rpm. 

The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox. The modified Cycle parts of 2018 such as the suspension and brakes stay the same. The 41 mm front forks have a travel of 200 mm while the rear mono-shock gets a travel of 180 mm. The motorcycle continues to get dual-channel ABS and the option of disconnecting the ABS on the rear wheel. The Himalayan incorporates a 21-inch spoked wheel up front and a 17-inch spoked wheel at the rear.
