Price
The 2021 MG Hector is available in four different trim options and is priced from ₹12.89 lakh (ex-showroom). The Top Variant price goes up to ₹18.42 lakh (ex-showroom).
MG Hector's CVT and DCT variants will be available at ₹16.52 lakh (ex-showroom) and ₹18.09 lakh (ex-showroom), for Smart and Sharp trims respectively.
MG announced that the six-seater Hector Plus too receives the new CVT gearbox. The two CVT trim options for the Hector Plus are available at ₹17.21 lakh and ₹18.89 lakh (ex-showroom).
Engine Specifications
The new MG Hector gets three different powerful engine options - petrol, petrol hybrid and a diesel model. The first two variants get 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine churning out 143 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. The hybrid variant gets a 48V electric motor which enhances the overall efficiency of the model. The diesel variant gets power from a 2.0-litre engine generating 270 PS and 350 Nm.
Transmission
The transmission options in the MG Hector 5-seater SUV are manual, DCT and CVT.
The new CVT petrol variant in the smart trim model of the SUV intends to attract the daily commuters. The pulley and belt driven assembly of CVT ensures smooth transmission mechanism which improves the overall efficiency of the vehicles at low speed and start stop city traffic. So MG heads for a better start this year with the promising CVT Hector model in India.
The DCT (dual clutch) variant which has more complex fixed gear ratio unit ensures to deliver seamless driving performance and comfort at high acceleration.
MG has replaced the all-black theme with a dual-tone black and beige superior upholstery which uplifts cabin ambience. Feature additions on the 2021 Hector include ventilated seats, wireless phone charger and an auto-dimming IRVM.
The Technology modification include Hector’s voice assistant which can now recognise up to 31 commands in Hinglish – some completely in Hindi – for input commands ranging from opening and closing of the sunroof to air-con controls and navigation.
Exterior Feature Update
The exterior of 2021 Hector has been made more eye-catchy and stunning, the grille gets a revamped finish with more neat and distinct look and at the rear, the reflector strip that spanned across the tailgate has been replaced by a black rear strip. The Hector now sits on larger and stable 18-inch alloy wheels and it also gets new front and rear scuff plates.
MG Hector 5-seater rivals with strong segment contenders like Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Maruti Suzuki S-Cross and many more. The new CVT addition to the MG Hector portfolio is sure give a tough competition to existing segment models. The automaker intends to make a remarkable market penetration with the new CVT entrant.
