Hyundai’s strategic approach in the trending SUV segment of the automobile industry gave it an upper hand among the strong contenders. Its revolutionary instincts in engine and transmission technology, premium design, features and affordability has helped its efficient variants to lead and stand strong in the very intense competition of the segment. 

The second largest auto manufacturer in the country is all geared to launch the AX1 a sub-compact SUV which has been another lucrative bracket of the segment. The consumers in the developing country have shown remarkable preference for the SUV segment. The passenger vehicle automakers have taken up this opportunity to experiment and equip the consumer affiliated segment vehicles with consumer demanding features. Hyundai the one of the most trusted brand of the country would ensure the B-SUV AX1 though a micro-SUV to have features in the best interest of the buyers.

Price

The expected price of the B-SUV Hyundai AX1 is Rs 4-7 Lakh.

Engine Specifications

The AX1 is expected to be powered by 83 PS 1.2L Kappa petrol engine, 100 PS 1.0L turbo-petrol engine, and 75 PS 1.2L diesel engine, which powers the Grand i10 Nios. There will be a 5-speed MT and a 5-speed AMT as transmission options.

Features

The international spy shots of the vehicle have revealed few details of the exterior design elements of the B-SUV. The front adorns a massive unique grille design with high mounted LED DRL’s and low mounted headlamps.

The front also gets skid plate and an Ignis inspired square design. The side profile showcases large square wheel arches, 6 slat petal shaped rugged alloy wheels in black under rectangular shaped wheelarches. The boxy exterior design gives it an overall tall-boy stature. The interior features have not been revealed however a floating dashtop mounted infotainment system along with BlueLink connected tech is expected to equip the cabin of AX1.

The AX1 when launched by late 2021, will rival the likes of Mahindra KUV100, Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Maruti Suzuki S-presso and upcoming Tata HBX.
