Mahindra and Mahindra owned Classic Legends launched the legendary Czech JAWA motorcycle in 2018 in India. They launched Jawa 300, Jawa 42 and Jawa Perak. This Quarter they have launched the iconic JAVA 42 which stands in a very remunerative segment of motorbike. The relaunch of JAWA motorcycles in the country has seen a growing consumer base with more than 50000 units sold last year. 

The parent JAWA Moto has been long known for the use of advanced mechanism like automatic centrifugal clutch and electronic ignition in the classic bikes and mopeds. The motorcycle enthusiasts still look up to the impressive transformations made in these motorcycles. JAWA 42 known for its urban and modern built has arrived with more athletic and promising modifications.

Engine Specifications

This year the BS6 compliant engine has been designed to be offer better throttle response, powerful exhaust punch, fine-tuned cross port engine configuration. 

The new JAWA 42 is powered by 293cc liquid-cooled and fuel-injected engine which delivers 27.33 PS of maximum power and 27.02 Nm of torque. It is company’s first single-cylinder engine to utilize cross port technology.

 The engine mechanics have been reworked to offer improved power response. It has made the throttle output sharper which responds to even the slightest inputs through refined fueling.

Feature Updates  

The upbeat creative motorcycle now fresh paint hues like- Orion Red, Sirius White and AllStar Black. A grey classic retro sport stripe runs across the length of the motorcycle to add to the sporty appearance.

The JAWA 2.1 rides on 13-spoke alloy wheels, shod with tubeless tyres. The Classic Sports demeanour is further enhanced by the bar-end mirrors, all in black finish. While the instrument cluster continues to be a single pod offset mounted unit, it now comes equipped with a trip meter. The company has also redesigned and revamped the seat pan that offer better cushioning and  comfort. In addition to the redone seat the suspension has also been reworked upon to offer better handling and stability.

Classic Legends has also come up with a flyscreen and headlamp grille that will be separately sold across the JAWA dealerships. The model retains the dual cradle frame, telescopic front forks, preload-adjustable twin rear springs, a 280mm disc at the front, a 240mm rotor at the rear, and dual-channel ABS. The alloy wheels are wrapped in 90/90-18 and 120/80-17 MRF tyres at the front and rear.

The range of accessories has further been expanded with custom made saddle bags fit for all Jawa bikes. The alloy wheels on the other hand will also be available at dealerships and will fit all Jawa bikes.

JAWA 2.1 (JAWA 42) has been redesigned to allure potential crowd of all ages. It rivals with cruiser segment motorbikes Royal Enfield Classic 350 and Honda H’ness CB350.
